Peat-bogs and authentic village in the Jizera Mountains

Let’s visit the Jizera Mountains and its main beauties.

We will meet Praha-Černý Most BUS STATION, platform 7 at 8:15. From the metro station, you take the first stairs down. We will take a bus (with a change in Desná) to Jizerka – a cozy settlement that gets locked up in winter due to show.

The hike is around 18-19 km long, and looks approx like this:

It’s in the mountains, so a decent condition is required, but since we are starting almost at the peak, there shouldn’t be much ascending.

HIGHLIGHTS:
– Jizerka – the most authentic (probably) mountainous settlement in Czechia that get locked up in winter
– Jizera peat-bogs
– couple of nice views from Pytlácké kameny (rocks), Paličník

We will finish the hike in Bílý Potok, from where we will take a train to Liberec, and a bus from Liberec back to Praha-Černý Most. Planned arrival back in Prague at 9 pm.

We may have a little but time for the second bus in Desná. There are a few small shops if you need something last minute. There won’t really be anything in the mountains during the day, though. Some showers are forecasted (as always), so take a raincoat, waterproof jacket or something.

This event is free of charge, but any contribution for organizing and to cover the subscription fees is more than welcome (100 CZK is just fine, but it’s totally up to you how much you think the trip was worth, your financial possibilities etc.). You pay at the end of the trip.

It’s okay if your plans change, but please also change your status accordingly. Not showing up is considered highly inconsiderate to others (and to me) and will lead to removal from the group (and me personally kicking your butt).
